Car Body Shop: Hall Graves Lee (Accident Repair Centre) Ltd - Plymouth

My insurance company delivered my car here to replace a front bumper and set of fog lamps that had been ripped off the car. I'd never used the garage before so didn't know what to expect. I was given a nearly new Nissan Micra courtesy car which was very clean but no match for the size of car I had to leave with them. Still, It did the job. When I went to pick up the car I noticed that some of the replacement parts were incorrect and were from a slightly different model. Hall Graves and Lee were very good about this and even came out to my workplace to check the newer replacement parts were the correct ones. When I picked up the car for a second time I was annoyed that the gap between the new bumper and grill section was far too big ('fit your finger between' size) I did ask if it would be corrected but there did seem to be an air of silence after my request. The manager seemed most put out that I had asked for a small correction. Still, this was eventually corrected after a lot of 'spirited' discussions. However, the main concerns came when I noticed some of the surrounding body parts had been 'scuffed' and the car appeared to have been driven hard with a quarter of a tank of fuel missing! I questioned this and the manager told me the car had been driven a short distance (2 miles) to 'check the new bumper was secure'. The badly worn rear tyres were not explained for though. The paint finish and colour match on the new bumper was excellent though, and I could not fault the overall finish. Recently however, I had to replace one of the new fog lamps after discovering that the wires were bodged and connected incorrectly causing the unit to short circuit. Unfortunately it was Hall Graves and Lee who wired this unit in - not impressed!! ...
